Access is via a public recreation area managed by the Northwest Florida Water Management District, with a boardwalk and steps for entry, plus picnic tables and a portable toilet. Day use is from dawn to dusk, with free overnight camping available by reservation (visit nwfwater.com/lands/recreation/area/econfina/devils-hole/). The water can be clear but may be less inviting due to debris or runoff, especially after rain. Best visited in dry seasons (late fall to early spring) for potential clarity. While there, check out the watering hole at nearby Seashell (FFRH+55, Sunny Hills, FL 32428) Maximum boat motor size on the creek is 9.9 hp. The campsite claims to have a boat ramp for small boats but a kayak may be about the most you’ll get though there. Clarity is more likely when gage heights are around 6-7 ft, reflecting minimal runoff and stable spring flow.
