Beauford Spring

A deep spring located within the Chassahowitzka Wildlife Management Area, accessible to divers after checking in at the main entrance off US 19 with a daily fee. It’s surrounded by swampy terrain and features a maximum depth of about 165 feet at the downstream cavern end, popular among experienced divers. No public land access is available beyond the designated entry, and recreational use is limited to diving. Water clarity can vary, best during dry seasons (late fall to early spring) when runoff is minimal. Clarity is likely when gage heights are below 1 ft, with optimal conditions around 0.5-0.8 ft.
