Florida spring
Hernando Salt Spring
Magnitude 2Mud RiverSpring HillPublic

A tidal salt spring tucked in the coastal hardwood scrub, where slightly warm, mineral-rich water rises from a small circular vent and spreads across a firm, sandy basin before blending into the tidal creeks. The pool is clearer and more defined than many coastal seeps, but still too shallow for swimming, and its shifting salinity gives it a unique pale-green tint. Access comes from nearby public conservation lands and footpaths, allowing visitors to walk right up to the spring’s edge and see the vent at low tide. Depart Mud River to Salt Creek where the spring is at the head of Salt Creek.
