Kissengen Spring

This spring was once a major artesian spring that fed a large spring pool and run, but natural flow ceased decades ago due to groundwater withdrawals from the Floridan Aquifer. Today, the spring no longer flows naturally and does not present as an active spring. The historic spring basin has been incorporated into a county park setting, where visitors can still see the original spring depression and run alignment, but the water present is not spring-fed. Pumps are sometimes used to circulate water for aesthetic and ecological purposes, but this is not a restored natural spring. This site is best understood as a historically significant spring location, not a functional spring experience.
