Pot Hole Spring

Pot Hole Spring

A small riverbank spring along the river where clear groundwater rises from a rounded limestone pocket and immediately spills into the river rather than forming a separate pool. The vent creates a noticeable bright spot against the darker river water. Access is by water only, as the surrounding uplands are largely private, while the river itself is publicly navigable. The spring is often confused for the nearby and larger Campbell Cut Spring. The larger spring is an amazing swimming area. Some will argue that Campbell Cut is actually Pot Hole or the name is actually Pothole. We're not going to argue the point. Check out the area!
